Welcome to the Sawbridgeworth u3a website
Sawbridgeworth u3a started in January 2016. There are now many differing activity groups where you can learn a new skill, enhance an existing skill and meet other like minded individuals. Sawbridgeworth u3a hold their general meetings at the Sawbridgeworth Memorial Hall, The Forebury, Sawbridgeworth CM21 9BD, on the second Friday of the month. Doors open at 3pm and refreshments will be served. We usually have a guest speaker: see the Events page for details.
If you are not sure whether this organisation is for you why not come along to one of the general meetings and chat to members. If you decide you want to become a member please visit our Membership page for details of how to join.
What does u3a mean?
u3a was founded in 1982 as the University of the Third Age but is now simply u3a.
u3a is self-managed, self-funded and democratic with their own Constitution. There are more than one thousand local u3as throughout the UK, each of which is supported by its representative body, The Third Age Trust.
